ELÇİN ÜNAL

She was born in 1967 in Kütahya. She graduated from Dokuz Eylül University BEF Art Education Department in 1989. After working as a research assistant at Abant Izzet Baysal University and Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Fine Arts between 1994-2000, she founded Elçin Art Studio in 1998. Between 1998-1999, she worked as an art educator in the "Art as a Hobby" program broadcast on TRT 1, TRT 3 and TRTint channels, which have been shot at Elçin Art Studio. Between 2000-2002, she worked as a restorer at Steven Wolf Art Gallery in San Francisco.

During this period, she participated in 48 Art Show exhibitions in the Bay Area as part of the the San Francisco Society of Fine Arts. After her return to Turkey, in 2005, she prepared the I. Aegean Art Fair project. In 2006, she acted in Oyun and Irrinova films, which qualified as finalists in the Istanbul Short Film Festival. In 2006 and 2007, she was appointed by Adnan Menderes University as an art consultant to the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce Travel Portal Arrangement Project.

Ünal, who produced original printmaking at the Istanbul Museum of Graphic Arts in 2006, gave lectures in Lithuania Marijampole College within the scope of the Erasmus program in 2007. In 2011, as a visiting lecturer at State University of New York, SUNY Brockport College, she conducted 'Collaborative Works' project courses with Chris Carson. Between 2011-2013, she was head of the Fine Arts Education Department of ADU Education Faculty. She worked as a founding member of the International Culture and Art Dialogues Association in 2013, and as a founding member of Icas International Contemporary Art Exhibitions Organization in 2016, and in 2017, at the International 7th Aegean Art Art Days, organized by Ege University, as a Curator, Member of the Executive Board and a Member of the Organization Committee.

She has art work in Singapore, Indonesia Yogyakarta, Tunisia, Poland Torun, Istanbul, Gaziantep, Balıkesir, Izmir State Painting Sculpture, State University of New York, Thrace and Cyprus Near East University Museums, as well as in private collections. The artist who opened 27 solo exhibitions and more than 100 group and composite exhibitions in Turkey and abroad, is currently working as an associate professor at Adnan Menderes University and continues her art work at Elçin Art Studio.
